Whether you call it the Mid-Autumn Festival, Lantern Festival, Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, this day is celebrated across most of East Asia and by East Asians around the world. You can find a Mooncake Festival in Sydney, Lantern Festival in Singapore, Mid-Autumn Moon Family Festival in New York, Mid-Autumn Festival in London and many more. The revered date is the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, which translated to a late September or early October date in the Gregorian calendar.
What better way to celebrate the Mid-Autumn than with our readers.
Affluent Society invites you to share your stories, photos and videos on this festival. Tell us what you like about the occasion. How do you celebrate in your country? What mooncakes are you enjoying this year? What does the festival mean to you?
To help you get started, here's a festival story from one of our readers, Shernielle Christeline Teo. We even have a Mooncake recipe from our own Chinese Cuisine chef, King Wong.
Sharing your Mid-Autumn story, photos and videos is easy. Simply create a login and password on the Affluent Society website, if you haven't already done so. Its just like setting up an account on Facebook. Once verified, you'll be able to post your story after 24 hours.
In the meantime, here's wishing you and your family a joyous Mid-Autumn festival on behalf of all of us at Affluent Society.
We are Affluent Society. Welcome to your Festival Lifestyle.
