New York City: Thanksgiving - Day and Traditions

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday in the United States and Canada which occurs on the fourth Thursday in November of every year.

On this Day families and friends get together to celebrate the harvest and other blessings of the past year.

Americans generally believe that their Thanksgiving is modeled on a 1621 harvest feast shared by the English colonists (Pilgrims) of Plymouth and the Wampanoag people.

The American holiday is particularly rich in legend and symbolism, and the traditional fare of the Thanksgiving meal typically includes roast turkey, turkey stuffing, sweet or mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, cornbread, cranberry sauce and a pumpkin pie

Thanksgiving is one of the most beloved holidays in America and this year is held on November 26th 2020.
