Recipe: Easy Peruvian Pisco Sour

Today is the Independence Day of Peru. What better way to celebrate the liberation of Peru than sipping Piso Sours with family and friends.

Pisco is a spirit distilled from wine or fermented fruit juice which forms the base liquor for the Pisco Sour. This sour comes from the sour citrus juice and sweetener components.

While we can’t celebrate in true fiesta style at a Peruvian restaurant, there's nothing stopping you from enjoying this drink at home, with this easy recipe.

Ingredients:

Pisco 60ml

1 Egg white

Lime Juice 30ml

Simple syrup 150ml

Equipment:

An Old Fashioned glass

A Cocktail shaker and strainer

Preparation & Serving:

All ingredients into the cocktail shaker

Add ice cubes and shake vigorously

Strain contents into the glass.

Serve straight up without ice

Garnish with lemon segment and Angostura bitters.

Feliz día de la independencia Peru!
