The Centennial Parklands consist of three major urban parks covering 360 hectares and are aesthetically beautiful as well as historically significant, housing Australia’s Federation monument, The Federation Pavilion. It is home to a number of equestrian schools and other domestic animal endeavours. The Parklands is also home to over 15,000 trees, 124 species of native land and water birds, and 18 introduced species of land and water birds. During the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games and Sydney 2000 Paralympics, the parks hosted part of the road cycling events, the football, and formed part of the route for the marathons. Fun family activities include horse riding, cycling and picnics in the lush parklands.
