Away from the hustle and bustle of neighbouring Cronulla is one of Sutherland Shire’s newest brunch spots tucked away in leafy Burraneer. It was a sunny Saturday afternoon when we decided to try out this exciting new café. As always, there was a long queue of the weekend brunch crowd awaiting a table. We put our names down on the waiting list and it wasn’t long before a smiling waitress showed us to our table.
I fell in love with the interior already. The blush pink and white aesthetically designed interior was pleasing to the eye. The simple, modern pastel décor was cosy and inviting.
We ordered the crowd favourite Ricotta Folded Eggs ($16), the Sweet Corn Fritters ($18) and French Toast ($18).
The roast field mushrooms tossed in gremolata and the generous serving of parmesan over the eggs made the Ricotta Folded Eggs a very delicious dish indeed! It was obvious why it was one of the more popular dishes on the menu!
The Sweet Corn Fritters with a chilli fried egg and grilled spring greens tossed in spiced brown butter was another great tasting dish and the spice factor from the chillies was just right! A pleasure for our taste buds.
And of course, no brunch is ever complete without a generous helping of dessert! The French Toast was a caramelised fruit loaf with passionfruit, orange, lime and candied macadamia nuts with mascarpone and vanilla ice cream. It was sweet and tangy and the perfect accompaniment to a freshly brewed cappuccino.
Portion sizes were generous and service was always with a smile. The ambience was warm and friendly.
